State of Illinois Investment in Research, Development and Innovation Yields Great Returns
Since 2001, the State of Illinois has invested over $175 million in research, development and innovation activities and provided over $44 million in support for research and technology parks throughout the state (Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity). This edition of ISTC Catalyst celebrates the State’s commitment to innovation with two new fact sheets highlighting just a few of the investments that are enhancing Illinois’ global standing as a place where science and technology foster economic growth.

Nominations Now Open for the 13th Annual Illinois Technology Association (ITA) CityLIGHTS Awards
ITA CityLIGHTS is the annual celebration of vitality and innovation in the Illinois technology community. Celebrating its 13th year, ITA CityLIGHTS recognizes some of the leading technology companies and individuals whose leadership and success are driving the role of technology in Illinois. Nominations for CityLIGHTS awards are now open and will be accepted until March 26, 2012. Self-nominations are welcome and appreciated.

On Tuesday, April 24, the Illinois Science & Technology Coalition, Illinois Institute of Technology and Northwestern University will be sponsoring an all day SBIR application training session from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Jim Greenwood, an expert on the SBIR process and head of Greenwood Consulting Group, will be leading the workshop on the SBIR/STTR program and DoD opportunities.
